FOR HACKNEY, BY HACKNEY
16 June 2016: Dalston Music Festival has today announced its latest line up additions, including local legend and pioneering reggae champion Newton Dunbar, ex-WALLS’ Sam Willis’ solo project Primitive World, folk-pop trio BAS JAN, and Hackney’s own Super Best Friends Club.
They will be joined by electronic record label Beat X Changers, synth-drum duo Soccer 96, experimental beat-makers Mhah Mos, and ethereal electronic producer La Leif, among others.
At the heart of the festival lies the Gillett Square stage, which will host free live music throughout the day from the likes of Ruby Rushton, Roger Robinson & Disrupt, Soul Jazz Records Soundsystem ft Oxman and Newton Dunbar. Full line-up listed below.
One wristband will allow access to eight other live music venues from 6pm, all within a two minute walk of the Square: POND Dalston (reggae followed by psych/electronic), Dalston Boys Club (polymorphic pop), Servant Jazz Quarters (pop, not slop! with DEEK Recordings), Dalston Jazz Bar, Arcola (ecstatic dancing), Tipsy (spontaneous electronic), Club Makossa (tropical beats) and Stamford Works (experimental).
Dalston Music Festival, in partnership with Dalston Studios & London Borough of Hackney, is a community event intent on bringing everyone together in the name of music.
